Purchase Domain Name
Purchase Domain Name
Purchase domain name. When purchasing domain names, for beginners, it is easy to do the wrong thing without even knowing you did anything wrong. To purchase a domain name, you should choose and research carefully because once you've decided on buying a domain name and made the decision to purchase that domain name, it's done.
Then when you promote your site, setup back links and put so much work into it, it is very hard to go back and make a different choice to purchase domain name.
To purchase domain names properly, you should consider what are the best keywords that describe your business and try to fit one or two of those keywords into your domain name. It isn't always easy to think up ways to fit a keyword into your domain name, but it is certainly worth your time and effort to do this BEFORE you purchase domain name.
For an extra boost in Google's eyes, try to fit your keyword into your domain name as the first word or two. Like if I have a business by the name "Johnnies House of Flowers", I could try and purchase domain name in that exact order. Or I could try to get "flowersbyjohnny.com". Purchasing a domain name like flowersbyjohny will give you a boost in Google's eyes because your keyword has been put first in your domain name.
Sometimes you will find when you go to purchase domain name that all of your ideas are already taken and registered. When this happens you can always purchase a .net domain or try to purchase a .org domain.
I strongly advise that you always try and purchase domain name as a.com. Dot coms are more recognizable and are more the norm. That is not to say that there is anything wrong with purchasing domain name in another form, like .net or .org. I have just personally had more success with .com's than any other extension.
But sometimes that perfect domain that you want to purchase will only come in .net or .org. In that case, you promote that domain just as hard and fast as a .com and you should be ok.
You can also consider when purchasing domain names to put a dash in between your words. Most people don't like to do this thinking that it may harm your rankings or the way it looks to people.
Again, I personally have domains with dashes and have never had a problem at all with them. The search engines, like Google, really do pay attention to the content of your site, more so that your domain. I have seen many domain names rank for keywords that have nothing to do with the spelling of the domain name in particular.
There are many different factors involved with doing well in the search engines, your code, your choice of keywords, your placement of those keywords, but content is really how you will be classified. If you have great, original content, sprinkled thoughtfully with your keywords, Google will reward you.
So when you purchase domain name, purchase your domain names from an educated standpoint.
